Aelita goes to Lyoko again to talk to her father at the Core of Lyoko. She confesses her determination to find her mother. Back on Earth, Jeremy suggests she use social networking to help.
Later in the school quad, the heroes discuss a strategy to stop spectres from getting them. Jeremy suddenly has an idea. He goes away to think for a while and then comes back with a new plan for his friends: he wants to try and take back some of XANA’s codes. The idea is to capture a spectre, trap it in a scanner and lift its codes.
They put the plan into action: Yumi serves as the bait because she has the most codes, waiting in an isolated spot. William, a no-coder, hides nearby to keep an eye on her. Ulrich and Odd stay on Lyoko to deactivate the Tower if things become too dangerous.
The group decide to leave Aelita out of it so she can focus on her mother. The pink-haired girl follows Jeremy’s suggestion and creates a social media profile, where she puts out an appeal to find Anthea.
Everyone gets in position. After some waiting, a spectre appears in the park and chases after Yumi. Jeremy transfers Ulrich and Odd to the Desert Sector, where the activated tower is. They encounter a few Krabs.
Yumi lures the spectre to the factory, under William’s careful watch. Using a hologram of Yumi, Jeremy tricks the spectre and gets it into the lift. Arriving in the scanner room, the real Yumi is virtualised right in front of the spectre and arrives in the Desert Sector. The spectre enters the scanner and Jeremy traps it inside. It works: Jeremy manages to retrieve some source codes. XANA’s creature starts pounding on the walls of the scanner, severely damaging it. Suddenly it disintegrates, much to everyone’s surprise.
A new problem arises: the spectre’s residue was virtualised onto Lyoko. Taking the form of a virtual particle cloud, it immediately attacks Yumi. Immune to her attacks, it causes Yumi to fall into a virtual coma just by brushing against her. Then it heads for Odd and Ulrich. Under Jeremy’s orders, they quickly destroy the last Krabs… But before Ulrich reaches the tower, he’s also touched by the spectral cloud and falls unconscious. The spectre leaves: it doesn’t attack Odd because it’s only going after those who are carrying source codes. The virtual monster then returns to Yumi and levitates her, carrying her towards the Digital Sea and permanent virtualisation.
Because the scanner was damaged by the spectre, Jeremy can’t even devirtualise his friends… Jeremy instructs Odd to go to the Way Tower in the Desert Sector: the only one he can still enter despite no longer having any codes. Jeremy activates the tower and reinjects Odd with the code he stole from the spectre in the scanner. Odd can now leave and try to deactivate the Tower. However, because of this, Odd is no longer a no-coder. The spectre leaves Yumi and goes after Odd instead. Odd manages to dodge the cloud on his Overboard. He enters the Tower and deactivates it, causing the spectre cloud to disappear.
The mission is mostly a success. Odd got some codes back, XANA lost power and the spectre was destroyed. But the heroes are nevertheless in agreement: capturing a spectre is too dangerous to attempt again.
Aelita got a lot of messages of support on the social networking site, from people ready to help her in the search for her mother. She hopes this buzz will help her find a trace of Anthea Hopper.
Note: episode was released yesterday on iTunes despite it not airing on TV. The episode was shortly removed, so it was obviously a mistake and the following episodes won't be released until the hiatus is over.
Code Lyoko Evolution on YouTube (update)
Hey everyone, it's been a while!
It's been a few years since Dargaud acquired the rights to Code Lyoko and started posting the episodes for free on official YouTube channels, with several channels for various languages. The rights for Evolution still belonged to someone else so they couldn't be posted. But now the licence has gone to Dargaud as well, and they've started posting the episodes on the official Code Lyoko channels!
Because the episodes (except one) were never dubbed into English, they've decided to keep the original French versions and add English subtitles. So far the English channel is the only one to start uploading episodes,
Dargaud and Code Lyoko
Hey guys, it's been a while! Just a quick update. And it's Code Lyoko rather than Evolution, but it's worth sharing!
As plenty of people may already know, there are now official YouTube channels for Code Lyoko in various languages, where the episodes have been uploaded in decent quality for free viewing. The English channel just reached episode 95, so the whole series can now be found there. Binge away!
But that's not all... Apparently, Dargaud has created an HD version of the series! No word on when or how it will be released yet, or how they made it HD, but it will be available in English as well as French. I guess it's not huge news, but
Moonscoop bought by Dargaud
First off, new avatar! I'm a GIF fan so a change was inevitable, but I admit the change from dark blue to yellow is a little weird at first.
Oh and another group-related note, please try to submit any non-CLE works directly to the "Other Code Lyoko" folder rather than Featured, it makes it a lot easier to sort ^^'
Secondly (old news), Canal J has aired episodes 20-26 and they're available in low quality French (unfortunately not on iTunes), links to which are available on the episode journal entries. Aaand I can't seem to find any subs for them...I'm probably just looking in the wrong place. If you know any links, drop them in the comments!
Canal J picks up CLE
Looks as though Canal J is about to break the episode hiatus!
While some French people are a little miffed about not having the channel, Canal J has started to air Code Lyoko Evolution with a rather strange schedule. I'm not going to try and explain, but in short, episodes 20-26 should be aired in mid-December, starting on the 13th and ending on the 20th. Here's the TV guide if you're curious.
Yeah, 3:34am. The episode on the 14th is listed as being Rivalry for some reason, but I think that's just a mistake.
Meanwhile, France 4 continues delaying the episodes, they're up to their second rerun of episode 10 now.
